Who can apply？
The following period of stay in Japan is required for the application of permanent resident.
【1】 The applicant with working Visa---more than 10 years residence in Japan and more
than 5 years working result with working Visa in the total resident period.
【2】 The applicant with spouse or child of Japanese national and spouse or child of
Permanent resident---more than 3 years residence in Japan, In the case you get married with
Japanese in abroad and the
priod of living together is more than 3 years, more than 1 year period of stay in Japan is admitted
for the application.

How long does it take from the application to the final decision
Generally speaking, it takes arround 10months. The period is different depending on individual
circumstances.
Accordingly, the applicants whose Visa expires during the investigation by Immigration bureau should
apply for the extension of Visa separately.
